This is a throw back blog from 3 years ago, it always brings a big smile to my face as it was such a fun night out and Sarah truly was an inspiration. Now 3 years later and returning from the same Florida get away to visit my parents I reflect on what was the happy monkey moment of this trip. Sarah wasn’t at the Bistro the night we went out, the band was a solo artist playing dinner music and no one was dancing between tables. However, we were not at a loss for another fond memory.
The true monkey moment came on a van ride to the golf course with my parents, husband and son. Out of the blue my Dad started singing Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah and we all joined in! 2 rounds and lots of laughs. No recording contract coming our way but the memories and the laughs were amazing.
Zip-a-dee-doo-dah was one of my favorites as a child and now my Dad who is a man of very few words these days fired up that song and got us all singing along. It is moments like this that I cherish and carry with me that make me smile. I have now adopted this as my song of 2019!
We all have happy monkey moments but if you don’t slow down enough to notice or engage in them they just slide on by. Make sure you slow down enough to take advantage of and enjoy the happy monkey moments in your life and have yourself a Zip-a-dee-doo-da kind of day, month and year.
