Research has shown that the old saying of "It’s better to give than receive" is true on many levels. Besides feeling good about you for doing something for others it is also good for your physical health, self-esteem and personal empowerment.
We encourage our members to be conscious of doing good for others. Whatever you choose to do to give back—whether you volunteer your time, make a monetary donation or do a random act of kindness—you are making the world a better place by sharing.
HMC is very proud of their efforts to give back and make a positive difference in our community.

Bravestone Centre Inc.
Providing safe and healthy second-stage housing, counseling, and support programs that promote physical and emotional healing and personal growth for women and their children who have left abusive relationships. The program is based on the premise that families need to be free from danger to break the cycle of violence.
Bravestone Centre Inc. is our charity of choice. We support them through proceeds of our endowment fund and various fundraising efforts throughout the year as well as collection of house hold supplies.
As of November 2016 we have contributed $5,120 to Bravestone.
Breast Cancer Research
Through our partnership with the Bison women's basketball team at the University of Manitoba, HMC has been a part of their "Pink Weekend" to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research. Our efforts have contributed $6600 as of October 2015.
Our message to our members will be doing Random Acts of Kindness. We will target 2 months a year to deliver that message to our membership as well as encourage volunteer opportunities.
