This quote caught my attention in a magazine the other day and made me smile because happy is exactly how I feel when I am in nature away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Blue skies, fresh air, breath taking scenery and the physical challenge of hiking up and down truly make me happy.
I arrived home Friday after a week of hiking in Arizona with the Happy Monkeys. 10 awesome ladies, pushing their limits physically and pushing some fear limits too. Snakes, heights, caves…it was amazing. We all wrapped up the week feeling inspired, energized and ready to take on life.
The science behind the power of nature is growing. “Nature Bathing” is a real thing…google it! The practice of walking through nature helps to reduce stress and anxiety, reduce heart rate, blood pressure and improve your mood. As the weather shifts and warms up it is easier to get outside and enjoy all the benefits of nature. Please don’t feel you need to travel far, there are many great trails and hikes right in your back yard.
