There is never a better time to get healthy.

I don’t want to sound like a broken record here, however, I do think you need to hear it and understand why living a healthy lifestyle is so important now more than ever before.

Unless you have been living under a rock you all know the health crises we are in with Covid-19 world wide. We are all staying at home, social distancing and washing our hands, clothes, door handles more than ever before to help flatten the curve and allow life to get back to some form of normal. I’m onboard with this and know it is making a difference.

However, what we need to realize is that we can’t hide forever in our homes and Covid-19 isn’t 100% going away until a vaccine is created which according to experts could be one year to 18 months. In addition to this germs are everywhere, viruses and flu’s still exist all waiting for us to come out of our homes.

So, the big question is, what can we do to protect ourselves to the best of our ability beyond social distancing and washing our hands as the economy begins to open up?

The answer is strengthen your immune system!

“80% of all chronic disease and premature death is preventable by using lifestyle as a medicine”. Dr. David Katz

Think about that!

Healthy Lifestyle which leads to a strong immune system is your best line of defense as we move forward. (Please note: social distancing and hand washing still remain first and foremost.) I’m not talking about crazy diets, I’m not talking about popping a 100 pills. I’m talking about simple habits you can do every single day that add up to an immune system that can help you fight disease.

6 simple solutions to boosting your immune system.

  1. Get a good night sleep. (minimum 7 hours, more is better)
  2. Eat more whole plant based foods. (increase fruits and veggies)
  3. Drink water as your first choice.
  4. Eat more healthy fats.
  5. Add more fermented foods to your diet.
  6. Get active daily.

6 things to limit to assist your immune system

  1. limit added sugars.
  2. limit processed and fast foods.
  3. limit alcohol.
  4. limit or control stress.
  5. limit or stop smoking. (Heavy lean toward stopping)
  6. limit negative information. (News and people)
